Food and Life Sciences Sales Representative
location: Germany
Principal Responsibilities:
The Food and Life Sciences Sales Representative (based in the Frankfurt office) is responsible for positioning Sensitech’s innovative solutions in the Food and Agricultural (Fresh produce) markets, as well as in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device. He/she manages territory of existing accounts and is responsible for developing new accounts and managing relationships as appropriate. He/she develops strategic plans for large multi-national accounts and implements them in order to exceed the sales goals of the territory. He/she is the primary communications conduit between the customer and the company reflecting the issues of one to the other, and arranging joint meetings with senior management as appropriate. Interface with Client Services, Technical Services and Field Application Specialist personnel as needed. Assist management in defining future needs of the company to continue to be the leader in the markets served. Provide a rolling forecast of projected sales on a monthly basis. Work with marketing to develop programs, which will assist in creating powerful tools for sales, as well as techniques to optimize the sales cycle. Up to 60% travel required. Other tasks as assigned.
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering and/or business with 3-5 years of previous outside sales experience selling information technology systems. A demonstrated ability to deal with and be successful in highly complex, multi divisional customer account structures. PC proficiency. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management skills required.
Professional Services Program Manager - Food Industry
Location: Nieuw-Vennep, The Netherlands
Basic Purpose:
This position is responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of projects and programs designed to help companies involved in the manufacture or distribution of temperature sensitive food products continuously improve their cold chain management and product handling from manufacture or harvest through to consumption. This involves project management, field work, data analysis, process improvement activities, writing technical reports, providing technical expertise and managing Field Technicians and Assistant Project Managers. This position also involves working with a cross functional team including data analysts, project managers, industrial engineers, food scientists and salespeople.
Internal and External Relationships:
• Daily contact with Sensitech’s Professional Services Department team members, in person and by phone and email.
• Daily contact with customers. This typically involves interaction with QA or operations personnel in food companies by phone or email.
Challenges:
• Interacting with wide a range of customers and team members with varied backgrounds and perspectives
• Managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
Travel:
Up to 35% travel is required. This typically involves 1-4 day trips within Europe working in food manufacturing or distribution facilities.
Principle Accountabilities:
• Required to assess cold chain management/refrigeration issues across a wide range of food products from production through point of sale.
• Responsible for planning and executing projects, and for presenting the results. Requires excellent project management skills as well as excellent oral and written communications skills
• Train and manage Field Technicians. Requires strong people management skills.
Knowledge and Experience:
• BS or MS in Postharvest Horticulture, Food Science, Food Engineering or related field preferred
• Minimum 5 years work experience involving food quality assurance, food R&D or related field.
