Sensitech Invited to Be First Guest Speaker at Prestigious Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Forum Trailer Thermal Mapping Highlighted at PCCDG Beverly, MA – January 19, 2006 – Sensitech Inc., a global leader in cold chain visibility solutions, today announced that it was selected as the first guest speaker for the Parenteral Drug Association’s (PDA) Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Discussion Group. This was the first time in PDA’s 60-year history that a commercial member or vendor was chosen to present to the nonprofit organization. Sensitech’s presentation, titled “Trailer Thermal Mapping Best Practices,” focused on global regulatory guidance and standards. Sensitech’s Director of Life Science Sales, Ken McCabe, detailed the changes in the overall regulatory environment, including the recently published United States Pharmacopeia (USP) General Chapter <1079> “Good Storage and Shipping Practices.” He then highlighted a trailer mapping case study, involving the planning, execution and results received from a recent thermal mapping project. The purpose of the PCCDG is to exchange current industry practices, ideas, and information on global shipping and distribution of temperature sensitive medicinal products (including active pharmaceutical ingredients, final product, clinical product, and reference standards). Other topics covered during the two-day meeting included C3 harmonization, cold chain qualification and master validation plans. Some of these topics were spearheaded by Rafik H. Bishara, PhD, a 35-plus year veteran of the pharmaceutical industry and former executive at Eli Lilly and Company. Held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Diego, January 17-18, 2006 and sponsored by Amylin Pharmaceuticals Inc., the PDA event was open to all members of the PCCDG. Founded in 1946, PDA is a non-profit international association of more than 10,500 scientists involved in the development, manufacture, quality control and regulation of pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals and related products. The association also provides educational opportunities for government and university sectors that have a vocational interest in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sciences and technology.
