Sensitech is a wholly owned subsidiary of Carrier Corp., a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX). The two-day conference, which will focus on “Strategies for Implementation, Efficiencies, Cost Reduction and Regulatory Compliance,” will be kicked off by Sensitech with an in-depth, interactive workshop – “Implementing Good Cold Chain Management Practices for Shipping and Thermal Mapping Studies” – followed by a regulatory-based presentation – “Review of Current Global Cold Chain Regulatory Environment.” The interactive workshop, presented by Sensitech Cold Chain Visibility Advisor Mark Maurice, will highlight multiple case studies that will examine the implementation and results of various shipping and thermal mapping studies. Thermal mapping study examples will include facility, trailer, container and airplane thermal mapping. These case studies will explore in detail the various phases of each project and will maintain an educational perspective on the regulatory environment. In addition, this presentation will explore near-term benefits and lessons learned from each case study. Shipping case studies will focus on continuous process improvement and risk mitigation enabled through ongoing monitoring programs. Objectives for the session include sharing of key lessons from various shipping and thermal mapping studies and outlining of immediate and longer-term benefits. On day two of the conference, the global regulatory review session, presented by Sensitech Life Science Director Ken McCabe, will highlight details of the global regulatory environment, including United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards, new and draft formats of global government regulations, and a review of applying U.S. Food & Drug Administration’s (FDA) perspective of a risk-based approach to Good Cold Chain Management Practices (GCCMP). Objectives for this session include gaining a thorough understanding of the global regulatory environment, an outline of trends in regulatory and standards-based documentation highlighting areas of concern, and gaining a perspective of future trends in GCCMP.
