Re: TTM Desktop Importing Saved Files

The ‘Import' function in TempTale Manager Desktop 4.0 is used to view files that have been downloaded and saved by older versions of TempTale Manager software (e.g. TTM 2.4, TTM 2.3).   However, be aware that this same import function is not available in older versions of TempTale Manager (e.g. TTM 2.4, TTM 2.3), and therefore, data files that have been downloaded and saved by TempTale Manager Desktop 4.0 cannot be viewed in TTM v2.4 or earlier versions of this software.

Affected Systems

Sensitech customers attempting to use an older version of TempTale Manager software (e.g. TTM 2.4 and earlier) to view files saved by TempTale Manager Desktop.

Problem Cause

The ‘Import' function in TempTale Manager Desktop 4.0 is the function that is to be used to view files saved by older versions of TempTale Manager.   However, older versions of TempTale Manager do not have this same capability to import or view files that have been downloaded and saved by TempTale Manager Desktop 4.0.

Solution

All users and locations of TTM 2.4 and earlier should upgrade to TempTale Manager Desktop 4.0, since TTM Desktop 4.0 has the capability to read both old (*.ttd, *.tt4) and new ( * .ttx) saved TempTale file formats.

TempTale Manager Desktop 4.0 Import File Instructions

  1. Follow the steps below to import TTD/TT4 files.
  2. Go to File drop down menu and Select Import. The Open File dialog box will open. TTD/TT4 Files (*.ttd; *.tt4) is default value in the Files of type dropdown-list
  3. Browse to the location of your TTD/TT4 files
  4. Select the file and click Open. The data file will open in TTMD 4.0
  5. You can now save the data as an encrypted XML file (*.ttx). Select File; Save As. Enter the name of your choice in the File Name field and click Save.
